Cartier Trinity Pave Price

The resident from the yellow Dormitory

Kathy talks about her experiences as a home dweller, why you like it here so well and why she decided to give up the commute and move to Eisenstadt.

Interview by Marlene Kollmann.

MK: You were in the first two terms, a commuter since September 2007 and now you live in the home. How did you come to this decision?

KK: This decision has resulted in over time. In the first year of my studies, I am between swimming and Eisenstadt commuted - but the train! That was really stressful, because the connection is not optimal. Also, I always had to reckon with various delays from the ÖBB, I am sitting 2.5 to 4 hours per day on the train. That was me then in the long run simply too exhausting.

MK: How have your parents on your decision?

KK: The have noticed at the end of the second semester, how much I am suffering from the constant commuting and how exhausting for me was. Therefore, they supported my decision and let me go into the student's home.

MK: What has changed since you moved to Eisenstadt?

KK: So, I have gained much by living on campus in time and quality of life to it. Commuting and all the stress fall away, I can get up in the morning and walk across the yard and am in the same university. The means an enormous relief. I also enjoy the independence that results from the fact. I cook and wash themselves in some cases myself, I manage my own life. This is a good step in growing up. Of course it is also nice to do with my friends after school or something and spend time together.

MK: What do you like most on home life?

KK: I like the community together. I work voluntarily for our cafe in the home and therefore I have again learned to know nice people. I also think that the home is very well equipped: we have internet, cable television, fitness and party room and a sauna. Since you also always has his friends in the area, one can not be boring.

MK: If you take off from the home, you will be hard to say goodbye?

KK: I take off with a laughing and a crying eye. I am the one hand, the fact that I will then move into a flat together with my best friend in Vienna. But of course I will leave the home and the residents. One consolation is that I'm still a while in the university studies and, therefore, all these people in November will again.

MK: I thank you for the interview.
